Secure Media Access Coordination for Inter-Vehicle Communication

Blum, J., and Eskandarian, A. (2004) “Secure Media Access Coordination for Inter-Vehicle Communication”, Miami, FL: Intelligent Transportation Systems Safety and Security, CD-ROM.

Abstract: In the future, networks of intelligent vehicles will communicate directly with one another for coordinated driving and cooperative collision avoidance systems. Unfortunately current proposals for inter-vehicle communication (IVC) protocols offer neither the security nor the scalability needed for these systems. This paper presents an outline of a secure media access layer that is being developed as part of an IVC communications architecture.
